Are donations tax-exempt?
Yes. ISKCON temples in India are registered under Sections 12A/12AA and 80G of the Income Tax Act. Donations qualify for a 50% tax deduction (with limits) on your taxable income.
How do I claim the 80G tax exemption?
Donate through the portal (online or offline). Receive a receipt bearing ISKCON’s 80G registration and PAN details. Include your donation and receipt details in your ITR under Schedule 80G to claim the deduction
Is there a limit to how much I can claim?
You can claim up to 50% of your donation as a deduction, subject to an overall ceiling of 10% of your adjusted gross total income (in old regime)
What are the accepted modes of donation?
Online: UPI, net banking, credit/debit cards
Offline: Cheque/DD at temples
Recurring gifts: Facility for monthly/annual donations
Project-based: Specific donations (e.g., annadanam, cow protection, temple construction)
Where do my donations go?
Your contributions support:
Temple construction & deity seva (e.g., Sudama Seva)
Food programs like Anna-daan (e.g., Food for Life)
Charity initiatives such as cow protection, anti-addiction, youth festivals, education, rural welfare, book distribution.
Can I donate to specific projects?
Yes! ISKCON offers project-specific donations including:
Annadanam / meals
Mandir Nirmana Seva
Cow protection/adoption
Temple & deity service
Gita distribution
Pandemic relief funds (e.g., COVID etc)
Free educational programs, youth festivals, anti-addiction efforts
Will I receive a receipt? How long does it take?
Receipts (physical or digital) are provided immediately after donation. They carry all tax-relevant info needed for 80G benefits
What if I donate from abroad?
No problem if you donate from your Indian accounts. Please contact us before donation if you are donating from your foreign accounts.
Can I set up recurring donations?
Yes. Monthly recurring donations are supported, with easy management and options to unsubscribe at any time
How do I know my donation is being used properly?
ISKCON maintains full transparency in all its donation-related activities.
You will receive an official receipt with all necessary tax details.
Our team is always available to answer queries regarding fund allocation.
Updates about ongoing projects and seva opportunities are regularly shared through email, WhatsApp, and temple events.
